Integrated fans have a unique motor that was designed to reduce noise when speed change. The unit can be placed in any direction and has twin ball bearings with an expected lifespan of 67,000 hours. It features a contemporary brushed black finish on a CNC machined aluminum frame. Fans are designed to exhaust air out the frame, but with the use of a screwdriver, this may be switched to inhale air.

The in-line multi-speed controller with power switch enables you to adjust the fan's speed to achieve the least possible levels of noise and airflow in a variety of settings. The fan's performance can be increased by up to 25% with the Boost Adapter that is provided in the package in addition to enabling wall outlet powering.

Each unit can be connected to extra AIRPLATE S and T series cabinet fans for cabinets that need greater ventilation. Up to six fans can share a thermal controller or wall outlet, and up to four fans can use the same USB power source. Two fans are present in the AIRPLATE S7, and three are present in the AIRPLATE S9. In order to prevent overload, all configurations with more than four daisy-chained fans, such as two AIRPLATE S9 units connected in a daisy-chain, must have their inline speed controller set to high.
