This Dayton Audio iMM-6 Calibrated Microphone is a high-quality measurement and recording microphone that can be used with all Apple "iDevices," including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod (with 3.5 mm jack). The sturdy design and small size make it the ideal travel companion for audio professionals who must perform on-site acoustic analysis, monitor audio levels, or record. With the use of a laboratory-standard measuring microphone, each iMM-6 is individually hand-calibrated to provide accurate measurements that are constant and reproducible and equal the degree of precision previously only available from pricy stand-alone microphones. Also, it works with Microsoft and Android smartphones that have 3.5 mm TRRS jacks. The measurement capsule is elevated and angled by a kickstand to allow for more precise measurements, and a headphone/line-out is built in for monitoring the recorded data. Each iMM-6 is ruggedly manufactured with high-quality components. With the iMM-6, a special serialized calibration file is supplied. Most audio-analysis programs for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch may use this calibration file (see compatibility list for recommendations). You will be required to enter the serial number from the casing of your iMM-6 when you use the Dayton Audio calibration download tool. Please take note that you might need to buy an app for your tablet or smartphone in order to use your iMM-6 as a calibrated measuring microphone.
